CELIA PERARNAUD
Celia is a Barbadian who takes the sunshine wherever she goes. She completed a B.F.A. in Dance at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and pursued a career as a dancer, choreographer and teacher in the U.S., U.K., Japan, Switzerland and The Netherlands. She moved effortlessly between jazz, modern, contemporary and ballet styles, which allowed her to work with the likes of Tony award winning choreographer Wayne Cilento and Rafael Bonachela, Director of Sydney Dance Company, and be a founding member of London’s renowned Ballet Black. Celia founded and directed a dance company in Amsterdam, which was the hub of a vibrant freelance community. Her study and practice of Pilates, Yoga and Mindfulness, Thai Yoga Massage, and Homeopathy, deepened her understanding of anatomy, physiology, and the vital force, and aided her development of an anatomically sound, effective teaching style. Her classes are ever joyous, and present dancers with an opportunity to release old patterns and find a new freedom of expression in their dancing.
